XI'AN

Xi'an is 1200 kms southwest of Beijing (1hour and forty minute flight); 1084 kms northwest of Shanghai (2 and half hours flight). Xian had long been the capital of ancient China. The emperor Qin Shihuang went on to establish the first imperial capital of China in Chang'an (present day Xi'an). For centuries, the Chinese Empire was governed from this location, and Chang'an remained largely its political hub until the end of the Tang dynasty around 900 AD.
Located at the eastern end of the Silk Road, Xi'an is home to some of the most spectacular sights in China, including the UNESCO-listed mausoleum of Emperor Shihuang with its thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors and their horses. Xi'an's excellent museum is one of the best in China, with Tang Dynasty pottery figurines and other relics. The Muslim Quarter, the Great Mosque, and the spectacular City Walls are all great historical sites.
So no visit to Xi'an should be considered complete tour to China without at least a stop here.

LUOYANG

Luoyang lies in the "centre of the loess" near to the south of the Yellow River in Henan province. For several centuries, Luoyang was the center of China, a major cradle of Chinese civilization

Luoyang has Longmen Grottoes, one of the 4 most famous Buddhist grottoes in China with over one hundred thousand Buddha figures in more than twenty three hundred niches carved on the hill; and Songshan Mountain's famous Shaolin Temple - the cradle of Shaolin Kung Fu and the number one Buddhist temple in China.

Datong in north of Shanxi, north China is known for the second-largest of the nearly 51,000 sandstone statues of Buddha in 53 Yungang grottoes; the wooden Hanging Monastery built about 1.400 years ago on extremely sheer cliffs of Hengshan Mountain. Bridges and corridors connect the different buildings of the monastery.

Pingyao in Shanxi Province, northen China, is a significant Ming Dynasty walled city, with one of the few walls in China remaining intact and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city has a 2700 year history. It was the center of China's modern Banking system from 1825, however with the collapse of the Qing Dynasty the banking and finances were transferred to Shanghai and Hong Kong which turned the city into a backwater, saving it from development and preserving its character. The cities' wealth of Chinese traditional buildings include courtyard houses, historic bank courtyard buildings, and more than 3000 historic shops.

Located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, Nanjing, literally the South Capital, is one of the most delightful Chinese cities. It was the Capital City of six to ten dynasties what gave him a brilliant cultural heritage. At the same time it offers modern conveniences and emerging cosmopolitan lifestyle of contemporary urban China.

It has been ranked fourth by Forbes magazine in its listing of "2008 Top 100 Business Cities in Mainland China", seventh in the evaluation of "Cities with Strongest Comprehensive Strength" issued by the National Statistics Bureau, and second in the evaluation of cities with most sustainable development potential in the Yangtze River Delta. It has also been awarded the title of 2008 Habitat Scroll of Honor of China, Special Award of UN Habitat Scroll of Honor and National Civilized City
