Hidden amongst jagged karst mountains, misty waterfalls and undulating hills, Guizhou is a gem hidden under layers of gorgeous scenery, and with each step, a new vista emerges. Guizhou is possibly one of China's most inhospitable areas. 80% of the land here is covered in either mountains or limestone. Yunnan and Guangxi might have been developed too much in the past few years. While Guizhou is still a fascinating and authentic spot.

The highlights of this southwestern Guizhou trip is to appreciate the Karst mountains, waterfalls and one special Han Chinese village and the villages of Long-horn Miao, one unique tribe of Miao ethnic group.

September-December; February-June

Chinese Lunar New Year (February, varied annually), Miao people will have their annual traditional celebration - Dance Flower Festival (Tiao Hua Jie) thousands of Miao people's gathering from surrounding 20 natural villages. Donning on splendid traditional costume, these Miao men and women blow red instruments and the suona horn, beat copper drums, sing and dance. It is also a good time for youngsters to make friends through singing and dancing.)

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Guiyang / Anshun
Beijing travelers: Fly from Beijing to Guiyang in the morning.
Shanghai travelers: Fly from Shanghai Hongqiao to Guiyang in the morning.
If you go from other locale, we will check the available flights from your locale to Guiyang.

Take morning flight to Guiyang, capital of Guizhou, then drive to Anshun to see Asia' s largest and most beautiful waterfall-Huangguoshu Waterfall. Check in 4-star hotel and say the night.

Day 2: Anshun / Liuzhi / Anshun
Drive around 2 hours via Liuzhi to Longga Village, you will find long-horn Miao, a very unique tribe of Miao with only few thousand people, living in about a dozen very remote villages. Visit an eco- museum in the village and then return by coach to Anshun.

Day 3: Anshun / Guiyang / Fly out
Visit Tunpu Village, a white island which is completely built with stones-stone enclosing walls, stone city walls, stone tiles and stone watchtowers…a real Stone Kingdom. We will take an hour walk along the plating field from one village to another. Transfer to Guiyang airport to fly out.
