Yang Sheng, meaning "health cultivation" or "nurturing life," is one of the most important concepts of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Rather than treating specific problems, the focus of Yang Sheng is on maintaining balance through an awareness of our connection to nature, to our own bodies, and to the spirit. It defines common, easy steps that ordinary people can take to cultivate health and harmony through daily activities, from eating seasonally appropriate food to engaging in certain exercises.
The Yang Sheng lecture will teach you how to beat the heat and live a balanced, healthy lifestyle this summer. You'll first learn about the characteristics of the season compared to other solar terms of the year and how they influence associated organs in your body. Then, we'll show you ways you can alter your diet, exercise, dress, and routine to achieve a healthier, happier you. You'll even get a cooking lesson and get to taste some suggested summer recipes.
Venue: China Culture Center, Beijing, China.
