There’s a famous song “Let it be” by the Beatles. Whenever I hear the words “let it be, let it be”, I feel more or less released. It is the “words of wisdom”, which should be whispered in everybody’s mind.
When we are trying to calm down by breathing with our abdomen or through our nostrils, it seems there’s more chaos arising in our mind, and we become more sensitive to the sensations of the body. That’s just the start of insight power. We should let it be whatever is arising in the mind or body as it is. Just “look”, without attaching to or resisting against. And when you’ve already attached to or resisted against, just keep awareness on the state of attaching to or resisting against. Try not to have extra attaching to or resisting against! With less attaching to or resisting against, the phenomena will be observed more objectively, and will not be “moved” by phenomena.
“When the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me”, as it is sung in the song. When the negative emotions or working difficulties appear, the awareness is a light to shine through the clouds. But not only “shine until tomorrow”, it should always stay with the moments. Whenever the awareness is arising, it is the start to break through the “clouds”. A bigger face is emerging instead of the narrow view, a clearer face is manifesting instead of the blurred points.
Let it be is to accept “here and now” with clear awareness, to deal with “here and now” with clean awareness. Let it be is to let the phenomena tell the truth. “There will be an answer”, as it is sung. We will gain a “big answer”; the “wisdom” will not be only the “words”, but the reality of truth in every moment of now.
“Let it be, let it be, let it be…”
