It snowed again today. Endless pieces of snowflakes are falling down from the sky; it seems they don’t have any hesitation to stay in the air for a split second. There’s no wind, they look unhurried. The sky is covered by clouds, where the snowflakes come from. The earth is covered by snow and looks heavier.
I open my palm; the flakes fall in and melt away. I ask them: ”Where would you stay?” “This is our way, nowhere to stay”, answered all of them, “At the moment we were born in the clouds, we have no idea to stay anywhere”.
“How are about you falling on the branches, eaves, ground…? You look steady!” I still have doubt. “That’s your view, my friend. Your eyesight is never sharp enough to see our ‘falling’ on the branches, eaves or anywhere else. The tele-microscope might be possible, but it still can’t reach our real destination.” “Are you still falling even on the ground?” I make more inquiries. “Sure, we are all the way ‘falling’ into next moment.” They reply steadily. “And none of us are able to stay.”
I laughed, and say: “if all of you are able to stay in no second, who is answering my question!” “All of us! And none of us.” I feel confused, and look at the branches dressed in snow; all the trees seem to be in bloom. “Yes, it is like blooming”, it seems they can read my thinking, “but the blooming is not a frozen moment!” They speak out suddenly. And this hint points directly into my heart, there’s no way to find a fixed mental form, even if I put my concentration onto a still point. The continuous concentration is just like a light bulb supported by continuous flowing current.
“You almost got it, sir.” They smiled, “Your heart can read my heart.”
I smiled and responded: “no one can tell me the answer, even myself.”
The snow stopped. With the echo of “stay nowhere” …
