The homeless body
Everyday we move this body to go here and there, to do this and that, we even don’t want to slow down, until the weariness forces the body to stop. The body becomes the slave of our desires.  When the body meets some troubles, such as: headache, toothache, stomachache, fever, cold, sore throat, etc…we will be frustrated and restless, because we feel there’s so many other things (more meaningful) to be done!  When we are using our eyes, we don’t know the feeling of eyes; when using our hands, we don’t recognize the condition of the hands; when using our tongue, we are not aware of the sensation of the tongue… The body is seldom at our mind, because the mind is covered only by desires, which is ceaseless and changeable and instigates our body to satisfy itself.  It is the same for the body of the world.
 
The wandering mind
Nobody knows how many more desires will our mind evolve, and develop into the evolution of the world. Can you understand now that the physical changes and chemical changes of reality are all derived from the changing desires? In other words, the manifestation of the world depends on the quality and quantity of desires, either bad quality or too much desire will cause problems. So, the mind is the root. If we think we can find a solution of peace and ease from the evolution of phenomena, it’s like polishing the leaves to improve the growth of a tree. When the mind is driven only by desires, it will take a non-return trip within a limited cycle.
 
Welcome home
Isn’t it nice to just enjoy the moment of a cup of coffee after a long journey of rushing hours? To stay intimate with your mind, body, breathing, cup, coffee...and feel the whole universe is within this moment of dependent arising! No more wandering, no more chasing. It relies on your concerned neutral awareness of the right now, no matter if seeing, listening, typing, washing, walking, talking even arguing……what it is as what it is, what is exactly happening, the sensation of your doing, the state of your mental forms. So that the mind and body are always at “home” --- the moment of now, it will show you the real face of reality, which will help you to enjoy the next moment of now…
 
So when you feel either happy or upset, don’t hesitate to call yourself: “Welcome home!”
