Chinese Ink & Wash style of brush painting

Materials: Rice paper (xuan paper), bamboo brush with animal hair, and ink & water colour
Introduction to Chinese painting Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. Ink and wash painting is an East Asian type of brush painting. It is also known as wash painting. The xieyi style 写意(free-hand) is one of the two major techniques of Chinese painting. (The other style is "Meticulous - Gong-bi (工笔)" , which is often referred to as "court-style" painting.
Chinese Ink & Water Painting or Brush Painting falls into three major categories in terms of subjects:
Bird, Flower, Animal
Landscape
Figure, Folklore, Religion
Come and learn this art with prestigious artists invited by CCC. The painting course is specially designed for Westerners, and assisted with English interpretation.
Venue: China Culture Center, Beijing, China.
Reservations: In order to properly accommodate everyone who wishes to attend this course we need to know each week exactly how many will be attending. If you haven't paid the whole two-month course, we ask that you notify us at least 3 hours before that you plan to attend each week's session. Register online is preferred, or give us a ring, if internet reservation is not convenient. No walk-ins.
About the instructors CCC has a pool of prestigious artists who teaches at CCC in the morning, evening or at weekends. CCC participants will have an opportunity to learn from and exchange ideas with different artists and their different style of art. |
