Professor Terri I-Chuan Wu, who has travelled and lectured worldwide often in close association with the UN, EU and Chinese institutions, has been a keen researcher of Chinese demography for decades. She is currently working on a book as to the impact of the policy upon people of all walks of life.
The lecture will cover the historical background to government policy and its impact on the society. Particular stress will be placed on the latest policy direction, the implementation of the policy, the demographic consequences in aging, sex ratio and labour market as well as the effects upon people's lives.
The talk will be conducted in English assisted by a PowerPoint presentation.
