Liaoning Travel Guide

Liaoning, a province of former Manchuria, has a superior geographical location, including boundaries on the Yellow Sea, the Bohai Gulf and the Yalu River, which makes Liaoning the closest gateway to the Korean Peninsula.

In the province’s capital Shenyang the old Manchu imperial palace and several tombs of past emperors can still be found and provide an insight into early Qing history. The town of Dandong on the eastern border offers a small but well renovated piece of the Great Wall and is also China’s main gateway into North Korea.

The thriving port city of Dalian achieved enormous prosperity through trade and export. It developed the city into one of the most modern and attractive in China. Clean streets and air, ample park space and pleasant beachfronts make it to a city of which many Chinese say, it is the most beautiful in China.
